KYBELLA is the first and only FDA approved, non-surgical treatment that contours and improves the appearance of submental fullness. Submental fullness, sometimes referred to as “double chin,” is a common, yet under treated facial aesthetic condition that can impact a broad range of adults, including both women and men, Causes for submental fullness may include:

Sometimes, no matter how much you diet or exercise, submental fullness may not go away, and it can make you look older and heavier than you actually are. According to a 2015 survey conducted by the American Society for Dermatologic Surgery (ASDS), 67% of patients are bothered by submental fullness.

A Flawless Med Spa practitioner will work with the client to customize their KYBELLA treatment based on the amount of submental fullness they have and their individual treatment goals. Together, the practitioner and client will decide the treatment plan that’s right for them.

Many clients treated with KYBELLA experience visible contouring of their chin profile in 2 to 4 treatments. Some clients require up to 6 treatments in order to achieve desired results. Once the chin profile has improved, clients may not need to be treated with KYBELLA again.

For most clients, downtime is minimal and occurs most commonly after the first treatment session.

As with other injectable treatments, clients may experience side effects with KYBELLA. The most common side effects are swelling, bruising, pain, numbness, redness and formation of small areas of firmness around the treatment area.

In clinical trails, the side effects that people experienced with KYBELLA became less bothersome with subsequent treatments. If after receiving a KYBELLA treatment, any of these side effects bother you, apply ice or a cold pack to the treatment area for 10 to 15 minutes.
